Most New Era houses are a two to four day job. A straightforward shingle roof can be done in a day or two. A cut up metal roof takes longer because every panel, valley and trim piece is measured and fit on site rather than pulled out of a box.
Often, yes. Plenty of the New Era roofs we get called to look at need flashing reworked or a section refastened, not a whole new roof. We will tell you honestly which one you are looking at, and if it is repairable we would rather repair it.
Much less than people expect. Over solid decking with underlayment under it, a New Era metal roof sounds about like a shingle roof from inside the house. The loud tin roof people remember was screwed straight to open purlins over a barn with nothing underneath.
Sometimes. If the decking is sound and there is only one layer of shingles, a New Era metal roof can go over the top on purlins. If there is rot underneath or two layers already on, we tear off first — and we will tell you that before you sign, not halfway through.
We do. After a storm we photograph the damage on your New Era roof and write an itemized estimate you can hand to your adjuster. We do not file the claim for you and we will not promise you what an adjuster is going to approve — that is their call, not ours.
